G. M. Rao

G. M. Rao, a mechanical engineer by profession, is the Group Chairman – GMR Group and Chairman of DIAL. He has been leading the GMR Group since its inception in 1978.

A visionary businessman, G. M. Rao entered into banking and played a key role in the transformation of Vysya Bank into a new generation bank. It was around this time that India's rapidly growing economy and the government's liberalization policies attracted his interest in infrastructure development. He recognized the tremendous opportunities in this sector and resolved to transform GMR Group into a powerhouse in the area of infrastructure development in India. Under his leadership, GMR Group has adopted a culture of professional-entrepreneurship where enterprise, speed and team excellence are critical ingredients.

Kiran Kumar Grandhi heads Delhi International Airport Private Limited and GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited as Managing Director. He heads the business development for the aviation sector of the GMR Group as Chairman – Airports Business.

Srinivas Bommidala, has over 22 years of wide ranging experience in infrastructure, service and agriculture sectors. He was instrumental in setting up new projects in infrastructure areas in a cost and time efficient manner. Earlier, he was Managing Director of Delhi International Airport P Ltd, GMR Power Corporation P Ltd and Vemagiri Power Generation Ltd. He is Chairman – Urban Infrastructure and Highways, GMR Group.

G.B.S. Raju has rich experience in development and implementation of projects in Infrastructure sector. Under his guidance, the GMR Energy barge-mounted power plant was established in record time, well ahead of the schedule. He heads the finance function of the GMR Group. He is Chairman – Corporate and International Business, GMR Group.

B.S.Shantharaju, CEO is an MBA, Post Graduate in Computer Management and a qualified Accountant. He has rich experience handling senior positions across varied sectors like Pharmaceuticals, Petrochemicals etc. Prior to joining DIAL, Shantharaju was the Managing Director of India's largest gas distribution company. Shantharaju represented the pharmaceutical industry interests in the context of the WTO regime & Intellectual Property Rights and was shortlisted for the Asia Business Leaders Award of 2006 by CNBC Asia.

K Narayana Rao is a Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant, Company Secretary and Management Accountant. He is having 28 years of experience and for the last 9 years has been working with GMR Group. Earlier he was Managing Director of GMR Industries Limited. He has rich experience in dealing with various Banks, Financial institutions, and Government agencies. He is a member in the Managing Committee of ASSOCHAM, FICCI, Indian Sugar Mills Association, South India Sugar Mills Association and AP Distillery Association.

G.Subba Rao is a Commerce Graduate and a Chartered Accountant. He has wide experience at senior level in Public Sector and Private Sector Banks. Previously, he was Board Secretary of a nationalised Bank.

T.R.Prasad
T.R.Prasad is a retired officer of Indian Administrative Service of 1963 batch. He served as Cabinet Secretary, Government of India and also served in various senior positions in the Central Government, and presently he is on the Boards of several other companies. He is an Independent Director on the Board of GMR Infrastructure Limited (Holding Company).

Andreea D Pal is Senior Vice President of Fraport AG, Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide. She is responsible for Global Investments & the Management of the entire Fraport subsidiaries worldwide since 1 February 2001. Prior to this, she was Vice President of Multi Utility Center RWE AG in Essen responsible for the international strategy of the group and Chief Technology Officer of TESSAG, Frankfurt. She was also Head of Lahmeyer Energy Solutions involved in the development of international BOT projects. Andreea Pal, Master of Science in Energy Engineering, her business interests are Project Financing, Change Management and Reengineering Processes in aviation companies.
Bashir Ahmad Bin Abdul Majid is currently the Managing Director of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB). He has over 30 years of experience in the airline industry, having worked for companies such as the Malaysian Airline System Berhad (MAS) from June 1972 to November 2001. Prior to joining MAHB, he was Aviation Advisor to the Ministry of Transport, Malaysia.

Sandeep Prakash holds the post of director in the Ministry of Civil Aviation. He is a post graduate in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Chennai. He has rich and varied experience in the fields of Taxation, Revenue Intelligence, Infrastructure development and Airlines.

P.Seth has extensive experience in Airport business. He has wide and varied experience of over 32 years in CAD l AAI in various senior positions. The key positions held by him in AAI included Director Communication (Southern & Northern Region), Regional Executive Director, Eastern Region. He is presently Member (Operations) in Airport Authority of India.

Hartej Singh Bains has extensive experience in Airport business. He has wide and varied experience of over 33 years in AAI in various senior positions. Key positions held by him in AAI included Airport Director, Trivandrum, Kolkata and Chennai. He is presently Member (Personnel & Administration) in Airport Authority of India.

Umar Bin Bustamam is an alternate director to Mr. Bashir Ahmad Bin Abdul Majid. He is currently General Manager, Commercial Services, Malaysia Airports Holding Berhad.

Christoph Hans Nanke is an alternate director to Andreea D Pal. He is Senior Executive Manager of Fraport’s Global Management and Acquisition Department. He is responsible for the subsidiaries in Germany, Austria and India and further acquisition projects. For Fraport he has headed several acquisition project teams (e.g. Management Contract of Cairo International Airport) and spent several months in Turkey as Interim Managing Director for the International Terminal at Antalya (2004). From February 2005 until June 2007 he was Managing Director of Fraport Ground Services Austria in Vienna (Austria).

O. Bangaru Raju is Alternate Director to Mr.G.B.S.Raju. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has been associated with GMR Group’s business activities since 1991. Presently he is Chief Executive Officer for Strategic Initiatives and Central Procurement in GMR Group and is involved on matters pertaining to new business / sector entry strategies and new strategic initiatives at the GMR Corporate level.
